• Ordinance 06-2026 replaced the old pastoral animals rule and was adopted 5-26-2026; it is not yet codified.
• Fowl means chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea hens, peafowl and similar birds.
• No free-range fowl on less than one acre.
• Manure must be kept at least 50 feet from any property line and stored so it does not create odors or breed flies.
• The per-acre chart runs past one acre; those higher figures come from a scanned ordinance chart, so confirm them with the township.

What about ducks?

Ducks follow the same rule as chickens. Mullica's 2026 ordinance counts ducks as fowl animals, allowed in any district on a sliding scale: 5 birds on a quarter acre, 10 on a half acre, 25 on one acre, and more on larger lots.
