Good to know

• Chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits and turkeys are classed as small animals/fowl, and none may be raised on a tract under 2 acres.
• Small animals/fowl may not exceed 20 times the number of medium animals allowed; a 2 to 3 acre lot allows 2 medium animals. No one may raise more than 5 turkeys.
• Animals must be fenced (66.65 sq ft of fenced area per small animal), sheltered, and kept 50 feet from the road and 25 feet from side lines. Chicken coops are permitted buildings.
• Only usable acreage counts; the part of the lot used for the house or left wooded is excluded.

What about ducks?

Ducks follow the same rule as chickens. Ducks are small animals/fowl, which can't be raised on any tract under 2 acres, and on a 2 to 3 acre lot the fowl limit works out to about 40.
