Can you keep chickens in Township of Buena Vista, NJ?

Good to know

• The code defines domestic farm animals to include chickens, hens, turkeys, ducks and other barnyard fowl.
• Keeping is allowed either as part of a permitted farm use or as an accessory use to a home in those districts.
• The animal unit table that caps numbers lists only cattle, horses, sheep and goats, so it sets no fowl count.
• An intensive fowl farm is a conditional use in the AP and RA districts only, on at least 100 acres.

What about ducks?

Ducks follow the same rule as chickens. Buena Vista counts ducks as domestic farm animals, allowed in the FA1, FA2, FA3, RA and RDR districts with a 50 foot setback from every property line and no shelter in the front yard.
