Good to know

• Applies in the R-A, R-AA, R-1, R-2, R-2A, R-2B, R-3 and R-4 zones.
• Manure and fertilizer can't be stored outdoors within 30 feet of a lot line.
• The noise chapter bans keeping any animal whose frequent or continued noise can be heard beyond the property line and disturbs people nearby.
• The Animals chapter (Ch. 68) doesn't address poultry. The pending zoning ordinance (Ord. 848) only creates an affordable housing district.

What about ducks?

Ducks follow the same rule as chickens. Alpine's zoning allows agricultural uses in all residence zones, as long as any building or run for poultry or animals is at least 30 feet from every lot line.
