What are Triano Farms coops made of?

Kiln-dried lumber, pressure-treated only where it meets the ground, a painted LP-board floor, half-inch PVC-coated hardware cloth on every window and run, stainless steel and aluminum hardware, and a 29-gauge ribbed metal roof.

Finishes are Sherwin-Williams paints or low-VOC water-based stains. The floor resists mold and insects, and the hardware won't rust.

How much snow can a Triano Farms coop roof hold?

The metal roof paneling is engineered for a 40 to 50 psf (pounds per square foot) snow and wind load.

The roof is 29-gauge ribbed steel in your choice of more than a dozen colors, with the component manufacturer's own warranty on top of our one-year workmanship warranty.

Does the coop come with an automatic door?

Can you paint the coop to match my house?

Yes. We can use any Sherwin-Williams color or match a structure already on your property, and the roof comes in more than a dozen colors. Most people pick a neutral black or gray roof.

Custom paint, or a premium low-VOC water-based stain, is one of the few add-ons priced on top of the base build.

Can I stand up inside the run?

On most of them, yes. Every standard run is about 6 feet tall at the eave, rising to about 7 feet at the peak on The Nest, 7.5 to 8 feet on the mid-size models and about 10 feet on The Manor.

Walk-in options are available. A stand-up height coop costs more than a compact one.

How many nesting boxes come with a Triano Farms coop?

The general rule is one box for every three to four hens.

Do you guarantee a coop is predator-proof?

No. We build the strongest protection we can, with half-inch hardware cloth and a dig-proof skirt on every coop, but wildlife is unpredictable, so we won't promise the impossible.

The goal is to make your coop a much harder target than everything around it. That is also why the warranty covers our workmanship, not predator attacks: the construction is what handles the predators.

What does the Triano Farms warranty cover?

Our workmanship, for one year from the date of installation. If something we built fails in that first year because of how we built it, we come back and make it right.

The parts we install, like the metal roof, latches and the automatic door, also carry their own manufacturer warranties, which are often longer than a year.

The workmanship warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, animal or predator damage, storm, wind, hail or flood damage, customer modifications, or problems from a coop not being maintained. The written project agreement is the controlling document.
