Good to know
- The ban is in the zoning chapter's supplementary regulations and covers poultry, pigeons, horses, cows, goats and similar livestock.
- Chapter 217, Poultry Markets, licenses commercial live poultry markets only (no more than three in the city), not backyard flocks.
- The health and animal chapters have no rule allowing backyard poultry.
What about ducks?
No. Passaic's zoning bars keeping poultry in every district, and the city code elsewhere defines poultry to include ducks.
