Good to know

• Residential agriculture, meaning keeping farm animals for the residents' enjoyment and not mainly for sale, is a permitted accessory use in the AR and R districts. The VR and VC districts do not list it.
• No poultry or livestock shelter may be closer than 100 feet to any lot line or to a dwelling on the same lot.
• An intensive fowl or livestock farm (more than 10 fowl per acre) is a conditional use needing at least 100 acres and 500-foot setbacks.

What about ducks?

Ducks follow the same rule as chickens. In the AR and R zones residential agriculture is a permitted accessory use, any poultry shelter must be at least 100 feet from lot lines, and more than 10 fowl per acre makes it an intensive fowl farm.
